1. About us
This store and website are operated by Hiscock & Co Ltd (company number 16271445), trading as Hiscock & Co — Regulatory Compliance ("we", "us", "our"). 2. These terms
These Terms of Service, together with our Refund Policy and Privacy Policy, govern your use of our store and your purchase of our products. By placing an order or using the store you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully — they include important information about your rights, the nature of our products, and our liability. If you do not agree to them, please do not use the store.
3. Our products
We sell editable compliance documents — policies, forms, checklists and templates — supplied as digital downloads only. There is no physical product and nothing is shipped. Files are delivered electronically immediately after payment by email and a secure download link.
4. Not professional advice
Our documents are editable templates provided for general guidance only. They are not legal, clinical, financial or regulatory advice, and no professional or advisory relationship is created by your purchase. Buying or owning them does not by itself make you or your organisation compliant and does not guarantee any inspection, registration or regulatory outcome. You are responsible for adapting each template to your own organisation, implementing it, taking your own professional advice where appropriate, and keeping it up to date as law and guidance change. Any reliance you place on the documents is at your own risk.
5. Orders
When you place an order you are making an offer to buy. Your order is accepted, and a contract is formed, when we send your order confirmation. We may decline an order at our discretion (for example, if there is a pricing or product error, or if we suspect fraud).
6. Prices and payment
Prices are shown in pounds sterling (GBP) and are payable in full at checkout. We may change prices at any time, but changes will not affect orders already confirmed. Payment is processed securely through Shopify and its payment providers.
7. Delivery
Your files are made available immediately after payment, by email and a secure download link. If you do not receive your files or a link does not work, contact us at hello@hiscockco.co.uk and we will put it right.
8. Your licence to use the documents
On purchase you receive a perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use and adapt the documents within your own organisation. You may edit, store and use them for your organisation's own compliance purposes for as long as you wish. You may not resell, redistribute, publish, share, sub-license or otherwise make the documents (or any adaptation that remains substantially our work) available to any third party, or use them to provide a competing product or service.
9. Intellectual property
We or our licensors own all intellectual property rights in the documents and in this store and its content. Except for the licence in section 8, nothing in these terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you.
10. Cancellations and refunds
Because our products are digital content supplied immediately, your statutory 14-day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 ends once your download has begun, where you have consented to immediate supply and acknowledged the loss of that right. 11. Acceptable use
You agree to use the store lawfully and not to misuse it — for example, not to attempt to gain unauthorised access, introduce malicious code, scrape or copy the store, infringe our or others' rights, or breach the licence in section 8. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms.
12. Our responsibility for loss or damage
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded under English law. Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by law: (a) the documents are provided "as is" and we give no warranty that they will meet your particular requirements or ensure any regulatory outcome; (b) we are not liable for any loss or damage that was not foreseeable, or for any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, or loss arising from your reliance on or use of the documents; and (c) our total liability to you in connection with a product is limited to the amount you paid for that product.
13. Events outside our control
We are not liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by events outside our reasonable control.
14. Privacy
We handle your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable UK data protection law.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your order is the one published on this page at the time you place it.
16. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms, and any dispute arising from them, are governed by the law of England & Wales, and you and we submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England & Wales. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
